EDI Test Procedure
ArvinMeritor, Inc.
Supplier EDI
Phase I
First, the communications session must be tested. ArvinMeritor will
allow the supplier to choose between a direct connect session
(computer to computer), or the use of a Value Added Network (VAN)
for communication methods.
Direct Connect
ArvinMeritor has it's own mailbox facility and uses a direct dial to the ArvinMeritor Data Communication System (ADCS) mailbox. If the supplier chooses the direct connect method, then the supplier must successfully test a simple communications session as described in this package. You should use the direct connection if your shipping plant is located within 2 hours of our receiving plant.Value Added Network
ArvinMeritor has established a mailbox on the Advantis (formerly IBM Information Network) network. The supplier can choose to subscribe directly to Advantis as a user of the ArvinMeritor mailbox, or they may choose another network provider and establish an interconnect to Advantis. Testing instructions are provided in this package.
Phase II
The phase will encompass a test of the supplier's ability to
transmit a simple Advance Ship Notice (ASN) directly to Arvin.
