Hardware/Software Requirements

The hardware and software used to support EDI communication with the ArvinMeritor Data Communications System (ADCS) are left to the discretion of the supplier. If the general communication requirements of ADCS are met, a mainframe, mini-computer, or micro-computer is acceptable.

To communicate with the ADCS facility:

A supplier's computer system must have:

• A dial-out line and port
• A 4800 baud modem using the Bell 208B standard

or

• A 14,400 - V.32 modem.
• A supplier's computer system must support:
• ANSI standard 2780/3780 protocol
• EBCDIC data characters
• Binary Synchronous Communications (BSC).
